The Heat Pump Rebate Still Available in 2026
Two provincial programs are currently active to help fund your installation. Here’s what you can claim.
LogisVert: the main heat pump rebate (up to $6,700)
LogisVert is Hydro-Québec’s program, and it’s the entry point for any residential heat pump rebate in Quebec. It provides a direct rebate on the purchase and installation of an ENERGY STAR-certified heat pump, a requirement in effect since November 26, 2025. The amount is calculated based on the unit’s capacity measured at -8°C:
- Standard ENERGY STAR heat pump: $50/1,000 BTU/h at -8°C
- Cold-climate ENERGY STAR heat pump: $120/1,000 BTU/h at -8°C
For a typical single-family home with a 42,000 BTU/h system, that means up to $5,040 for a cold-climate model. For the most powerful units, the LogisVert heat pump rebate can reach $6,700.
What you need to meet:
- The heat pump must appear on Hydro-Québec’s official list of approved models
- Installation must be carried out by a contractor holding an RBQ licence
- The application must be submitted within 9 months of installation
- No prior energy assessment is required

Rénoclimat: up to $5,250 in addition
Rénoclimat is a Quebec government program that no longer funds the heat pump itself (that component was transferred to LogisVert), but remains very worthwhile if you take the opportunity to improve your home’s insulation or airtightness at the same time.
The condition you cannot miss: your home must be assessed by an accredited energy advisor before work begins, not after. Many homeowners miss out on this benefit because they didn’t complete this step in time. Allow 4 to 8 weeks to obtain the assessment.
Combining Both Programs to Maximize Your Heat Pump Rebate
LogisVert and Rénoclimat can be stacked because they cover different things. LogisVert covers your heat pump; Rénoclimat covers your building envelope upgrades (insulation, windows, air sealing). The same equipment cannot be funded twice, but there’s no issue submitting both applications for separate measures.
In the best-case scenario, you can recover up to $11,950 by combining both programs.
The right order to make sure you don’t lose anything: get your Rénoclimat assessment first, then have the heat pump installed, then submit both applications.
What to Verify Before Submitting Your Heat Pump Rebate Application
The official model list. Your heat pump must appear on Hydro-Québec’s approved model list to qualify for LogisVert. A vendor claiming their unit is ENERGY STAR certified is not enough: the official list is the deciding authority, and it’s updated regularly.
Your contractor’s licences. The contractor installing your heat pump must hold the appropriate RBQ licences. This is a non-negotiable requirement for your application to be accepted.
The Rénoclimat timing. If you want to combine both programs, the energy assessment must be completed before installation, not after.
